The purpose and mission of the Pel-Cho Mudd Nutz ATV/UTV Club LLC is to promote responsible ATV/UTV sport riding and trail development.
This club was started on July 15, 2014 to establish additional trails & town roads in the Pelican Lake/Jennings/Elcho area as well as additional forest trails in the Enterprise Forest. Our goal is to have these trails open to ATV/UTV use and to develop and maintain a safe and responsible trail system with respect to the environment, land owner’s rights and applicable laws and regulations.
Our current membership stands at well over 350 individuals, families and business comprised of both local residents, seasonal visitors and property owners. Our membership has drawn participation from the neighboring states of Minnesota and Illinois as well.
During our tenure as a club, we have been able to gain approval from the Oneida County Highway Department to open all county roads in the towns of Enterprise and Schoepke to ATV/UTV use providing the opportunity for all of our property owners to legally ride to not only the adjoining trail systems but to the local businesses as well.
In addition, we were able to secure a grant and develop 6.7 miles of picturesque trail in the north east corner of the Enterprise Forest, adjoining the existing 16 miles of trail that runs in that area.
We have also established route connections to the Town of Pelican/Lake George area just east of Rhinelander and have been successful in having the remainder of the Enterprise Forest Block roads open for ATV/UTV use.
Most recently we finalized the opening of the trail along US Hwy 8 between Monico and the Forest County line to join the Forest County Area Trail Systems, as well as develop a trail connection from the north side of Pelican Lake to Monico itself.
And at the end of 2023 we were able to enter into an exclusive use agreement for trail access within the southeast corner of the Pelican River Forest, just east of Pelican Lake. In addition, we have established a long term relationship with The Conservation Fund who is the property owner of over 70000 acres of property to the north and east of Pelican Lake which will allow us to develop additional ATV/UTV Trails on their property.
Also in 2023, in cooperation with Oneida County Forestry an additional trail will be established on the north side of Pelican Lake from Dump Rd/Old 26 into the Town of Monico.
To accomplish this we will need to continue to grow our membership, raise additional finances, and most importantly of all display responsible and mature riding at all times as well as respect for the environment that we are riding in.
Provided that as members we keep the above in mind, we should be able to not only grow our club, but our riding trail system and interconnections to future trail systems as they are developed.
