As a member of the Pel-Cho Mudd Nutz ATV/UTV Club you are in the heart of some of the best ATV/UTV riding and trails in the state. Directly connecting to the adjoining counties of Forest, Langlade, Lincoln and Vilas there are literally hundreds of miles of routes and trails you have access to. Please enjoy planning your ride based on the maps below .
We are pleased to report that the Schoepke Dump Road/Old 26 trail north of Pelican Lake off CTH Q is now complete and is open for your use. This provides an alternate trail to the east into Monico and north to Hwy 8/Town Rd and continuing north on a Pelican River Forest road to Rasmussen Road, ultimately bringing you to CTH C, which you can take west to Rhinelander.
Hwy 45 Cemetery Road Trail is currently under construction as is not open. We are hopeful that this trail segment will still be completed later this year.
Rustic Road between Pratt Road and Hwy 45 is no longer a legal ATV/UTV Trail and is not to be used.
A Pelican River Forest Trail map is available on this site.

***Reminder! The Pelican River Forest Trails do not open until June 1st, 2025***
We are pleased to report that the 35 MPH Speed Zone on Hwy 45 in Pelican Lake is now open for ATV/UTV use. This will allow for the majority of residents residing along the highway to access County Rd B to the south, as well as allow for ATV/UTV access to PB&J's on Hwy 45.
Unfortunately, there is no legal route north of the 55 MPH sign on Highway 45 and it is requested you do not go past the ATV Route Ends sign as this would be a violation of the law. A Conservation Warden, state patrol officer, county sheriff or municipal peace officer may enforce the law if they find you operating the vehicle in violation of the approved route. Fines for violating ATV laws in Wisconsin can be anywhere from $150 to $2,000.
The new Pelican River Forest trails east of Hwy 45 between County Hwy B in Pelican Lake and US Hwy 8 in Monico, as well as the new Yamaha/Romsa Trail from Thompson/McGinnis Road to cross Hwy 45 to Hwy Q will formerly re-open on June 1st, 2024.
Please keep in mind that these trails are on private property the use of which is at the courtesy of The Conservation Fund and the access across Hwy 45 to Hwy Q is through the courtesy of the Romsa family and a $24500 grant from Yamaha's Outdoor Initiative Program.
Motorized access is limited to ATV-UTV-Snowmobile Use Only- No Cars, Trucks Dirtbikes-Motorcycles are allowed. Any Dumping and Camping is prohibited.
If using this property please respect all areas and 20 MPH Speed Limit on the Pelican River Forest Trails and 15 MPH on the Yamaha-Romsa trail.
Use of these trails is a privilege, not a right so please respect the speed limits and trail signs and DO NOT GO off trail.
It is fortunate that the Pel-Cho Muddnutz ATV/UTV Club received a grant in the amount of $24,500 to build the quarter mile trail Yamaha/Romsa trail on the north side of Pelican Lake from County Hwy Q to Hwy 45.
Thru this generous grant from Yamaha Outdoor Initiative this trail will provide for a safe crossing across Hwy 45 to the east onto McGinnis/Thompson Road and access to the Pelican River East trail system which will provide a safe, picturesque trail going both north towards Hwy 8/Monico/Crandon as well as south to County B/Pelican Lake/Jennings.
We are extremely grateful to Yamaha Outdoor Initiative for the generous Grant and to Antigo Yamaha for endorsing our club for the Yamaha Outdoor Initiative.

Oneida County has placed brown, 3 digit number signs throughout the County at key Trail intersections.
In the event of an emergency, the 911 operator will ask you for this number. Their emergency response system can identify these numbers and give important location information to rescue personnel.
